What to Wear

When you're getting ready for your photography session think about what everyone will be wearing. You want the look to be fairly harmonious and not distracting. Here are a few guidelines to help you along:

Keep colors in the same palette or tonal range. If everyone is in blue except Dad who is in orange, well, you can see how that would be distracting. Everyone doesn't need to be wearing the same color but if they are all about the same intensity that will work out great.

Busy or bold patterns are probably not the best idea. Except maybe in a very young child. I like newborns to just wear skin in a few images. They are so pure and precious and often translate into beautiful black & white images.

The clothes in the above image work well because, although they are different shades of blue they are all about the same intensity of blue.

Feel free to bring a few additional items that can be swapped out during the shoot.

You can always lay out some clothes, take a picture with your phone and email to me. I'm happy to help you with your selections so you get the best images possible.
